I now want to say something of the dogs that had no great show successes.  Strangely enough we felt even more strongly attached to these.  Perhaps it was because they were only kept as pets without having to be taken from show to show to earn money.  Their sole purpose was to give us pleasure and possibly produce valuable progeny for future shows.
