Once upon a time, the
Boxer Gallery ...
When I was a child my family always had different kinds
of dogs but never a Boxer. When I was much older I saw my
first Boxer, and, truthfully, I was unimpressed. Though
I was not stricken with this canine, my son was, and, since we
were "dog less" at the time, I agreed to get him one for Christmas. With the purchase of a Boxer
pup for my son, my world changed. Before long I was interested
in breeding and showing these wonderful animals.
Many of us have pet Boxers we dearly love, but, for
those of us who show and breed, we know what it is like to
become obsessed with trying to produce that illusive "perfect"
Boxer. Showing Boxers becomes a way of life, consuming every
part of what we do. Being involved in this sport requires
sacrifices of time and money. Costs include transportation,
equipment for a tack box, crates, grooming table, x-pens,
entry fees, motels, traveling expenses, and handling fees.
This is enough to frighten anyone away-------but not us!
Though the money can be calculated, the time spent could never
be accurately totaled. All of this and the daily feeding
expense as well as breeding expense and vet bills have not
been touched upon. Is it worth it?
Of course!
When the future champion reels in those majors that you
have traveled thousands of miles to find, the feeling of pride
and accomplishment makes all the sacrifice worthwhile.
On that "finishing" day when your Boxer becomes a
champion recognized by the American Kennel Club, you KNOW it
is worth it. Now, the perfect breeding, and the cycle, or
should we say "roller coaster", begins again.
This web site is dedicated to show Boxers and their
breeders who are always trying to breed that ever-so illusive
"Perfect" Boxer.
